Tree Pest Control in San Jose

The month of January is coming to a close, but do you know what isn't?  "PESTS"

That's right, those pesky little pests will continue to live on and further destruction of your trees.

Here are a few common pests you might want to be concerned about:

    • Asian Long Horned Beetle (ALB): The adult will lay eggs in an opening in the bark.  Then the larvae will bore large galleries deep into the wood which in thus are feeding galleries which through time will disrupt the vascular functioning of the tree and in return weaken the tree to the point of it literally falling apart and dying.

    • Emerald Ash Borer (EAB): This destructive beetle was identified as the cause of "ASH TREE" decline and mortality in Detroit.  Detroit you say, yep' they have officially arrived in California.  Better to be safer then sorry!

    • Balsam Woolly Adelgid: The adults inject a substance that affects hormonal response of tree.  Can cause irregular outer rings, gouting around buds and branch nodes, stunted terminal growth, reduced cone and seed production and so forth and so on...  You get the picture!

    • Winter Moth: Well, it's all in the name.  These guys absolutely love to chew up all of the delicious leaves on the tree and can do significant damage in the winter leading into spring.  They primarily love the leaves on trees that produce fruits such as apple, pear and cherry trees.

So if you don't want these pests in your backyard, act now!

    Our methods include:
    • Altering Irrigation
    • Pruning
    • Planting Depth
    • Changing or addressing mulch issues
    • Spraying or applying plant treatments

Our goal is to keep your trees and shrubs healthy. Anderson's even has the necessary equipment to reach the tops of large trees to provide treatment. Our licensed applicators use sprays, pesticides and organic treatments when applicable to effectively treat a wide variety of pests including mites, gypsy moths, Emerald Ash Borer, deer ticks, winter moth and other types of intrusive insects that can harm your trees and shrubs. Tree Inventory San Jose

Happy New Years from all of us at Anderson's Tree Care.

Winter is still among us and as you know the weather has been fierce lately rather it be flooding from the big storm we had a couple weeks back, or the wind storm that blew strong and hard all throughout the bay area knocking down trees and power lines and so forth... So let's start 2015 right and make sure you know what trees are strong and healthy, where they are at and the condition they are in.

    Our Process:

A tree inventory is the gathering of accurate information on the health and diversity of the trees on the property. How many street trees are there? What kind? In what condition are they? You cannot manage the properties tree population effectively unless you know its condition. Tree inventories are an essential tool of good management.
Increase efficiency with a tree inventory by Anderson's Tree Care Specialists. A complete tree, street or forest inventory will help you manage the trees in your care, increase the productivity of crews that work with them, and make short-term budgeting and long-term planning much easier.

Anderson's can help you create a tree inventory that includes the following information about the trees on your property or in your community:
    • Quantities
    • Locations
    • Approximate ages
    • Species
    • Diameter
    • Site Characteristics
    • Damage
    • Special Conditions
    • Recommendations for maintenance or treatments required to maintain health

We can also help you keep your tree inventory information current with periodic evaluations and updates. If the number of trees in your care is so large that individual inventory is cost-prohibitive, we can create a sample tree inventory to help accurately estimate your needs.

    Our Tree Inventory Management Guarantee

Anderson's Tree Care Specialists offers a custom approach to residential and commercial tree inventory services that is guaranteed to match your needs and budget. Our skilled, insured large tree inventory management professionals guarantee that your job will be done safely.

    Tree Removal in San Jose

The holidays are among us and so are the storms.  Don't let a tree ruin your holiday plans.  It is important to maintain but also make sure that your tree's can withstand what ever weather is thrown at us.  In this case, the "Pineapple Express" that is still rolling through San Jose has packed a punch with winds up to 30-45 mph and floods that have softened the soil have uprooted a lot of tree's.  So with all of this said, don't let that large tree ruin your day.

But wait, having a tree come down is probably the worst case scenario, so you may be asking yourself what should I do now with the storms among us?  Well the answer is simple, call us and we will send one of our tree experts out to assess your tree's and recommend precise pruning that will minimize potential damage to your home, car and property.  Having your tree's pruned is an important step in maintaining your property and can save you thousands of dollars in damage when the winds gust take control of that rotten branch and conveniently drops it onto your car which in return calls for a really bad day.  That's why here at Anderson's attention to detail is what makes us stand out above all other company's and we know that though the weather can be unpredictable at times our work is not.  We are here for you, and we will weather this storm together.

From all of us here at Anderson's, we would like to wish you a safe and wonderful holiday season.  Stay dry! and watch out for those tree's! ;)

    Tree Planting Services San Jose

Our Process of Planting or Relocating a Large Tree

Anderson's Tree Care Specialists can provide advice on the relocation of trees of all sizes for proper installation guidelines to new locations. One example shown to the right was a 40ft palm tree that was relocated. If it can't be done we'll let you know. In most situations it's usually a matter of expense, especially for large trees. The bigger the tree the more it costs to move it.

Utilizing over 20 years of relocating and planting experience, our crews control the critical variables associated with a successful tree planting/relocation including, soil analysis, staking, correct fertilizing and planting height. A tree planted and cared for correctly will thrive. Those that are not, can suffer stress, reduced growth rate and ultimately fail.

After working carefully to understand the individual planting sites and requirements of our customers, Anderson's dispatches crews to install recently purchased trees. Most of our customers choose this option for two main reasons:

    • Trees and their root balls can be extremely heavy. Once the tree trunk diameter increases, the root ball weight increases exponentially and can weigh 1000 lbs or more. Our crews carefully use special techniques and equipment to handle the trees while loading, transporting, unloading and getting them installed correctly.

    • All trees purchased by Anderson's and installed by our crews are covered by a 1-year warranty. Anytime questions arise about installed trees, our office staff is ready to help and if necessary, dispatch our Certified Arborist to your site.

Large Tree Removal in San Jose

Do you know of anyone in San Jose that is in the need of a "tree removal service"?

    Our Process Of Tree Removal

Tree removal is not a service we like to emphasize, but it is a very necessary part of arboriculture and one that Anderson's executes professionally and safely. Our goal is, and has always been, to provide services that keep trees healthy, but there are instances when removal is the best alternative for the landscape and owner of the property.

Tree removals are performed to eliminate dead and dying trees as well as those that have become hazardous. Removals can also be useful in eliminating competition for light and space so that the remaining plants are better able to grow and thrive. In some cases, trees may also be removed to allow for new construction, home additions and to provide clearances with those structures.

Tree removal is the most hazardous aspect of arboriculture. Often, tree workers must remove trees growing in confined spaces near houses, utility lines and other sensitive areas. Tree removal requires considerable expertise to successfully perform this task.

At Anderson's, our arborists are highly trained to work safely and efficiently in all tree removals. We provide thorough clean up of debris and strive to minimize the impact to surrounding vegetation.

As part of the tree removal process, the stump will typically be left as close to the ground as possible. If needed, removal of the stump can be provided. Stump removal can be challenging and often special machinery is required, but it may be necessary if the stump is a hazard in the landscape or simply an eyesore. Stump grinding by a professional is the easiest and safest way to handle Read More...
